Optical Safety System
Ultimate Safety Option You don't Wanna miss!
Garage door safety sensors play a crucial role in preventing accidents and ensuring the safe operation
of your garage door.
Ultimate Safety Option You don't Wanna miss!
- Garage door sensors, also known as photoelectric safety sensors, use infrared technology to create a line of sight across your garage entrance. These sensors are typically installed about 10 centimetres above the ground on either side of the door
- The system works by shooting an invisible infrared light beam from one sensor to the other. When the garage door is closing, it continuously checks if the beam remains unbroken.
- If an obstruction (such as a car, a person, or an object) crosses the light beam, the connection between the two sensors is interrupted.
In the US, Federal Law UL 325 mandated that garage door openers include safety sensors since 1993.
